Developer documentation

Smaz Games publishes HTML5 games that run in the browser on desktop and mobile. You upload a ZIP of your web build, add artwork, and submit it for review. Players can play as guests or with a Smaz Games account. Publishing is free and not exclusive.

These pages cover everything a build needs before it goes live: what you can upload, the SDK, how review works and the rules that apply.

What Smaz Games provides

  • A game page with your cover, screenshots, gameplay video, description, controls and studio name.
  • A player frame with pause, sound, reload, theatre and fullscreen controls.
  • Account saves that follow the player between devices, and browser saves for guests.
  • Player identity for your own servers: a per-game player ID and a signed token you can verify.
  • Invite links that open your game with a room code.
  • Statistics for your games, and an error log fed by the SDK.
  • Review feedback in writing for every version you submit.

What you are responsible for

  • The game itself, its content and the rights to everything in it.
  • Any servers your game uses, such as multiplayer or leaderboards. Smaz Games does not run game servers. See Invites and multiplayer.
  • Keeping the build working. Each update is a new version that is reviewed before it replaces the live one.

Current status

Important: Revenue share is not active. No payments are made to developers until a revenue-share schedule is published and you accept it. See the Monetization policy.

Ads on Smaz Games appear on the game page around the player frame, never inside games. Rewarded ads can be offered from inside a game only through the SDK, when the player chooses to watch one.

Agreements

Uploading a game requires a developer account and acceptance of the Developer agreement. The Acceptable use policy sets the content rules for everyone. If a page here and the developer agreement ever differ, the developer agreement applies.
